Hi everyone! It’s Lina again. Today’s topic: internet shopping.
The internet is not only a means of finding information. We use it to chat with friends, exchange photos and files, listen to music, and of course buy things. Last month my dad ordered a new schoolbag for me on a Tunisian website, and it arrived at our door two days later!
The benefits are huge: you can shop at any time, you don’t waste time in traffic, you can compare prices, and the choice is enormous. My grandmother lives in a small village, and now she can order books that the local shop doesn’t sell.
But look out! Online shopping has risks too. Hackers can steal bank card numbers and passwords. Some websites sell fake goods, and some products never arrive. So here are my three warnings:
- ⚠️ Mind fake websites! Only pay on secure websites (look for the little lock 🔒).
- ⚠️ Mind your password! Never give it to anyone.
- ⚠️ Mind the “too good to be true” offers! A new phone for 20 dinars? Impossible!
And remember: always ask your parents before you buy anything online. Happy and safe shopping!

🧩 Grammar القواعد
To warn people about a danger or a risk, we use:
- Mind + noun phrase! ▸ Mind the step! Mind your head! Mind hackers! (= be careful of…)
- Look out! / Watch out! ▸ for a sudden, immediate danger: Look out! A car is coming!
- Be careful with / of + noun ▸ Be careful with your bank card.
- Don’t + verb ▸ Don’t open strange emails!
Warnings are short and strong, so we often use an exclamation mark (!).
للتحذير من خطر نستعمل: Mind + اسم (انتبه لـ…) أو Look out! (احذر! لخطر مفاجئ وقريب) أو Be careful أو Don’t + فعل.

Hi Adam,
Mum told me you want to buy a video game online. Great idea! Internet shopping has huge benefits: you can compare prices on different websites, and the game arrives at your door, so you don’t waste time in town. But look out, there are some dangers too. Mind fake websites! Only buy from secure sites with a little lock next to the address. Mind your password and never give it to anyone, even in a chat. Watch out for offers that are too cheap: they are often fake. And don’t pay without asking your parents first. Have fun with your new game!
Love,
Nour
